about me

Considered one of the representatives of the Blues in his home country, the brazilian singer/guitarist/songwriter from Rio de Janeiro Nino Grandi has been collecting over the last decades experience in producing and playing distinct music genres such as rock, soul, metal, hip hop and electronic, and for some time now focusing on a solo career.


Performing since 1994 whether as side man, band or solo artist, Nino has been playing original material and versions of classics at some of the most important blues festivals, theaters and jazz clubs. With a mixture of blues, soul and psychedelic rock, he delivers unmistakable tone and personality.


The founding member of the band "Bulldog" in 2002 ("Rio Rock & Blues Club Awards - Band of the Year" for two consecutive years) also formed in 2007 the "Nino Grandi & Blue Train".
In 2010 released “Nino Grandi & Blue Train Ao Vivo D.O.C”, influenced by masters like Peter Green, Cream, Buddy Guy, Freddie King and Robert Jonson.

The 2013 album "Incomum" shows another side, the combination of eccentric original songs, traditional folk and sophisticated arrangements resulting in an album with sweet acoustic sounds and a transcendental vibe.


In 2014 released the EP entitled “Bad River” and won "Videoclip of the year" at the "Olho Vivo Awards (audience's choice)" for "Bad River Blues".

Living in Germany since 2018, he presented his concert "South American Blues" not only in german festivals like “Burg HerzBerg Festival” and “EuroFolk Festival” but also in other countries like Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal.


In the first months of 2024, the Nino Grandi Band releases the album "The Tales of the Wild Cat".

One year later, in January 2025, Nino's long-awaited solo album "I've Been Waiting" hits the Streaming platforms with 12 of his original songs.
