about me

I am often considered one of the representatives of the blues in my home country, Brazil. As a singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, I have gathered extensive experience over the decades in producing and performing various music genres, including rock, soul, metal, hip hop, and electronic music. For some time now, I have been focusing on my solo career in Europe.

I’ve been performing since 1994, whether as a sideman, band member, or solo artist, playing original material and covers of classics at some of the most important blues festivals, theaters, and jazz clubs. With a blend of blues, soul, and psychedelic rock, I deliver my unmistakable sound and unique personality.

In 2002, I founded the band "Bulldog," which won "Band of the Year" at the Rio Rock & Blues Club Awards for two consecutive years. In 2007, I formed "Nino Grandi & Blue Train." In 2010, we released “Nino Grandi & Blue Train Ao Vivo D.O.C.,” which was influenced by greats like Peter Green, Buddy Guy, Freddie King, and Robert Johnson.

My 2013 album "Incomum" showcased a different side of my musical range, blending traditional folk with sophisticated technique, and eccentric original songs that expressed sweet acoustic sounds with a transcendental vibe. In 2014, I released the EP "Bad River," which won "Videoclip of the Year" at the "Olho Vivo Awards" (audience's choice) for the video "Bad River Blues."

Since moving to Germany in 2018, I have presented my concert "South American Blues" at festivals like the Burg HerzBerg Festival and EuroFolk Festival, taking the show to countries like Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal.

In the first months of 2024, with a new band, I released my long-awaited new album "The Tales of the Wild Cat," featuring 10 of my original songs on streaming platforms. And there's much more to come!
